@odd Especially as these (mine) aren't even "Smart" TVs. Only switching between sources and choosing settings. No apps at all. Still, screen froze and wouldn't respond to the remote. Not taking no for an answer, I unplugged it . When power returned it behaved normally again. I'm not angry, just disappointed.

@jack I could have written the same post because :: checks iPhone and iPad :: I’m on version 14. Eagerly awaiting 11 for the Mac, though this year I'm only going to install on personal devices. This year…

@bix I use the iOS app for the unattended upload… I started using Flickr as a backup for my photos before I was an iPhone or Mac user. The only true interface is the web—I agree! I hadn’t even run into the location issues you mention.

@joshua Yes! I downloaded the beta and installed as soon as I saw it was available. iOS and iPad OS

@bix I agree with you. I was using an ad-supported news aggregator in the last half of the 90s, before I ever started writing. I had wrote on Manilasites in the early 2000's before Blogger came along and I switched circa 2002. I would argue that the blogging platforms enabled social media. But I was using blogrolls and book marks. Heavy RSS use for me came later.

@jack Thank you for the explanation and the link. That was an unexpected deep dive, and in response I’ve subscribed to Ryan's newsletter. I was introduced to challenge coins a little over a year ago and I have been thinking about many memento mori symbols since the passing of my father in 2015.

@jack Is that coin something you sought out specifically or something that you came upon but kept?

@bix RE: Rushmore - Gosh, that adds a lot more color and context to its place in our history. I understand better why it was specifically placed. I think it's best left unfinished. We've... done enough…
